Re: Foundry at McCoy's
foundry is still very good.
it seems like some items on the menu have shifted a bit. no more "fried veggie" appetizer, which sucks. i tried the "ninja stars" the other day and they were quite delicious - basically crab rangoon with blue crab (not much of it), cilantro, and a red chile sauce. veg burger is my favorite in town.
also, it is open until 3am every night and has a pool table.
it's never busy, which sucks. it is tasty, locally-owned, and a cool space.

I still haven't gone back, but I did try One80 the other day, and had a better experience.

i was excited to check this place out a few weeks ago, but i was kinda disappointed by the kitsch. aren't we 30-somethings done with that already? i don't remember what i had, but i was really disappointed to see a total amateurish approach to wine on the menu. riunite? um, kthxbye. it's almost as back as blanc insisting you purchase wine only in half-bottles.

I love the space, but hate the uber hipster crowd on the weekends.

Sure didnt do to much for me.. Confused with there decor on what they want to be and the name? what does a want- to- be hipster pseudo sports bar have to do with a Foundry?..nice beer list..maybe if I sat outside sucking in some of the ambience of westport it would be better..Would try again if Ethan was bartending.

As a single-issue bar patron, I will happily overlook the Foundry's service hiccups, ambitious pricing, and strange decor for their beer. At the moment, the Foundry has Kansas City's only cask beer. That's an automatic +500 points.

Re: Foundry at McCoy's
They just call it a "Scotch Ale," so it must be made next door at McCoy's. I love watching a cask beer being poured. The hand-pump! Real Ale!LenexatoKCMO wrote: What's on cask?

one of my favorite varietals - westport will have to be on the near term agenda.
