My girlfriend is in school up there and said that campus is a complete mess.Kansas State University officials said this morning that damage to the campus from Wednesday night’s storm will exceed $20 million.
K-State vice president for administration and finance Tom Rawson said that “roofs have been damaged or torn off, windows have been blown out in many buildings.”

That's awful. No injuries or fatalities though, right? Quite fortunate in that.

I haven't heard of any. It's pretty remarkable that no one was injured when looking at all that damage.KCMax wrote: No injuries or fatalities though, right?

I'm pretty sure there's been 2 reported injuries in Manhattan.

at least it was in the summer with less students around....
although if it were during the regular semester, the students could benefit from the best holiday for getting out of class, tornado day.

When I attended KState and there was a tornado warning I would always head to my Studio in Seaton Hall. Seeing those pictures I wonder if it was the right thing to do

Yikes
Looks like campus lost a lot of old, big trees....that sucks, that is part of what makes the campus so beautiful. Those old buildings stood strong though.

A friend and I went out after the tornado last night to see all the damage and it was like being in scenes straight from a movie. There were probably 300 people walking around campus and cars lined up down the streets. Definitely one of the craziest things I've been around for in my lifetime. Campus wasn't even hit as hard as the westside of town, around Seth Childs.

the microburst in lawrence was the same way. we had no warning at all. no sirens or anything. afterwards, it was incredible driving around.Mhudson wrote: A friend and I went out after the tornado last night to see all the damage and it was like being in scenes straight from a movie.
