There used to be one hell of an ornate building on the lot across from the New England building over by Phoenix.  Fang, what was it?  Wasn't it a City Hall?

Their liquor license expired because they didn't reopen before 2007 was out. Now they have to try to get a new one. I really hope they do, but I'm not betting anything on it.

The alarm has been going off for months now. I don't think there are any plans to do much of anything.

finally got around to checking kiva on this space... 2nd and 3rd floors are being renovated for condos right now, according to active permits. nothing appears to have happened with the actual phoenix bar... piano, salt/pepper shakers, etc. all sit as if the place closed yesterday.

I have a source that tells me that the Phoenix will be opening again as a bar soon. No timetable or format is definite yet.

I walked by this afternoon and saw workers on the second and third floors, so the renovations have begun on those floors at the very least.

Also, residential spaces on floors 2 and 3 should be moved into within the next 2 weeks.
