Vivace opened up a couple weeks ago in the River Market on the corner of Missouri Ave & Walnut. We drove by late one night last weekend and the place was packed. Had dinner there last night (Friday) around 9:00 and again the place was very crowded.
The menu is not huge, 3-4 salads, a half dozen pasta dishes and another half dozen entrees, plus a handful of appetizers. Prices are not inexpensive. Salads were $7 or $8, a bowl of pasta was $12 and entrees were about $16 to $29. Wines by the glass are $6.50 - $9.50.
Our food was great. The salads were very good, as was the pasta dish. The Steak Vivace was very, very nice.
What shocked me the most was the crowd. It was almost all young people hanging out at the bar. If anyone there was over 40, I didn't see them. Most looked 25-35. I don't know where they all came from, but this appears to be quite a hot spot on the weekends.
Definitely worth checking out!

I just hope it's pronounced Vi-vah-chee and not Viv-Ass. I don't think I could eat at a place called Viv-Ass.

thought i'd revive this thread. i can't believe no one has commented on Vivace in two years?
i know it was quite the hotspot when it opened to great reviews back in 04. any thoughts on it now? i'm considering going here this weekend.

Agree with you, Dave. Foods ok, but there is something about the place that leaves me uneasy.

I love the calamari, it's actually the only thing I go there for.
