NW corner of 3rd & Wyandotte?
Anyone know what's going on with this building (the one on the right?)
Currently all of the paint is being sandblasted off, exposing the original brick. I thought this building was only being used as storage but I would think one wouldn't start fixing up the exterior unless something more interesting was going to take place.
Per usual, I can't find anything current in Kiva.

This property is owned by the guy who owns Architectural Salvage on the Blvd. For the time being he says that this is in fact going to be storage. He's been sloooowwwwly working at a rehab of this building over the two to three years he's owned it.

Scoot....it is a cool building, but I'm guessing the only way to obtain it is to outlive him as he doesn't seem to need the money and also seems to hold tight to his real estate.
Point of clarification: they're not sandblasting. the paint is being removed with chemicals.

Why do people insist on having storage in highly visible buildings downtown?

This used to be the Meierhoff's building, where they replicated, bought and sold some of the best stained glass pieces in the Country. Bettinger must have bought her out and since he'd risk breakage moving all of that inventory (there were thousands of pieces) it makes sense to store it there until he can sell it or figure out what he wants to do.

seeing as they kept having graffiti problems before.... I don't know how long this new all-brick look is going to last unscathed....

looks like they ran into some bad bricks at the corner. A lot of the times when someone would paint brick it was because it was not sealed properly and was letting moisture in...

That building looks like it would make a great bar or restaurant. Remove those wood panels from the bays and replace them with sliding glass doors that open in the summer like is used at the Cashew at 20th and Grand. Put some nice awnings over the bays and viola, you have a charmer corner watering hole.
The upstairs would be perfect for a brothel. I think the old zoning for that remains.

There is no fifth destination.
