2 BILLION Lopped off Bi state II

Channel 4 reports that bistate tax II had 2 billion lopped off for the november push that is expected to be a hard sell any way.

The Bi state supporters , feel even a 1 billion tax will be difficult to get , In these tough times of high unemployment and high gas prices.

But Steve Rose, one of the people who helped push through the first bi-state tax, said this proposal is not a good deal. Despite that fact, Rose, who is the chairman of Sun Publishing, agreed to co-chair the campaign.

"I didn't really want to lead a campaign that I thought would fail No. 1, and should fail No. 2," Rose said.

Rose said the proposal has several major flaws:

Suburban mayors in Johnson County cannot negotiate directly with the Chiefs and Royals.
The proposal doesn't provide a $50 million cultural and recreational facility in Johnson County.
Union Station and Science City need big changes before receiving any money.

"At the beginning, they've made a big bunch of mistakes. (Union Station leaders) need to step aside and it needs to be done all over again," Rose said.




So it would appear unless union station , is COMPLETELY overhauled the measure will FAIL miserably!!!!
