Studio 804 House open house

Discussion of the Studio 804 house is hidden over in the Kansas Suburbs board.  Given how seldom some of you make it to the actual Kansas suburbs, I thought you may not have seen it.  Studio 804 is a year-long seminar in which KU architecture students design, plan, and build a modular or prefabricated home.


Studio 804 house in Rosedale, 750 Shawnee Road in KCK

Over the last 4 years, they have built 4 homes in KCK -- 3 in Rosedale and 1 in downtown KCK.  They specialize in affordable, high-design, ecofriendly building in neighborhoods in and around the urban core.  The houses are typically sited to take advantage of their settings.  In a word, they are gorgeous (if you like that kind of boxy industrial modern thing (which I do)).  They are wrapping up the most recent project just west of 39th and State Line, and the open house is tomorrow from 10 am to 2 pm.  They may still be looking for a buyer!
