KC Riverfront District Pre-Visualization (?)

Post by ComandanteCero »

anyone have any idea what this might be for?

i was checking out the following reel by a local computer animator (which is pretty cool in itself):

http://www.branitvfx.com/Movies/Branit_FX_2006.mov

when i saw this super short clip labeled KC Riverfront District Pre-Visualization, here are some screen shots:

edit: ok, i guess the obvious answer would be for the new neighborhood planned by Berkley park.  But i was wondering if maybe these had been shown in one of the presentations as a generic stand in for what the neighborhood might look like, or whether these might be actual renderings of what may possible go in there....

KC Region is all part of the same animal regardless of state and county lines.
Think on the Regional scale.

This was not in any of the public meetings or presentations.  I'd be surprised if they are actually that close to real design work.  Maybe just his ideas based on some general guidelines of style, materials, etc.

This guy's work is really good, but the actual product often fails to live up to his very stylized concepts.  The Nelson expansion is an example of this, where the renderings are starting to get better than the actual architecture.

I actually spoke to John Neely of Forest City at the last public meeting and he confirmed that no design work had yet been completed on individual buildings. This also looks nothing like what was presented.
