Add more to the list:

(not free though from what I've seen)

- Barney Allis Plaza
- Illus Davis park
- rooftop of new library
- Oak parking garage (ground level retail)

Looks like $5/day, $14/month (with yearly contract)

FWIW, Tizers has Wi-Fi service. I haven't tried it, but their menus say something like "ask us about our wi-fi access." It almost makes up for the lame name. Sounds like it's especially geared towards the business lunch crowd.

Add another hotspot, Muddy's coffeehouse on W. 39th St. now has free access with purchase. Don't know about their other locations.

Finally got around to trying out the Crown Center and Union Station hotspots. Crown Center has 802.11g, which means it's ultra fast. Range and signal strength were excellent in the areas around the front doors, and decent in the seating area further south towards the restaurants.

Union Station wasn't so good. They seem to have one antenna on top of the information booth, so reception is only good in that half of the main hall. They advertise service in the north hall and food court as well, but I couldn't get any signal in either place. No signal in the Amtrak waiting area either. With all of the stone and open space they need several more repeaters to get decent coverage.
