How are the subs in Missouri or any other city in America any different?

It's this type of malcontent attitude that divides this town. You guys talk all mighty about how the metro area needs to work together to make GREATER KC a better city, but then you bash on the KS side because of what? You're jealous of the wealth, prosperity, growth, status of JOCO? What is it?
Or is it because several Fortune 500 firms choose OP as their HQ's over KCMO? Don't blame JOCO for KCMO's problems....Cauthen said it himself that the basic infrastructure of KC was crumbling and would take a decade to correct for decades of neglect. Why do you think companies re-locate to the subs. If you want to point a figure, point it at the backward ass city gov't of KCMO.

Yep, and we CONTINUE to defer basic infrastructure maintenance so we can give the money to rich developers instead. Three cheers for mismangement!

That was an obvious bait, and you bit on it. The best way to deal with divisive people is to ignore them, and instead converse with the people that are for real.

KC JHawk has a point--all suburbs SUCK!! not just MO or KS, but drive thru the burbs of Denver, Dallas, SF, Las Vegas, etc etc. all look the same and all have one common element--THEY SUCK!! talk about mediocrity, nothing worse other than indifference which there is a lot of as well.

and as far as a regionalist approach to our future--dont bet on it. i attended a forum a few weeks ago with many mayors from the metro along w/ other elected officials and #1, these people are in the dark and #2, they only care about "what's in it for them". that is why we will always be on pause! (at least RT to NYC is only $202 these days!!)

Ditto, but....

Once in your life you will find her
Someone who turns your heart around
And next thing you know
Yor´re closing down the town
Wake up and it´s still with you
Even though you left her way across town
Wonderin?to yourself
Hey what have I found

When you get caught
Between the moon and New York City
I know it´s crazy but it´s true
If you get caught
Between the moon and New York City
The best that you can do
The best that you can do
Is fall in love

Arthur, he does as he pleases
All of his life his master´s toys
And deep in his heart he´s just
He´s just a boy
Living his life one day at a time
He´s showing himself a pretty good time
He´s laughing about the way
They want him to be

Mediocrity is in the beholder's eye, so it's tough to argue that point. But if you live in Fairway, Mission, Roeland Park or Prairie Village, you can walk or ride a bike to several grocery stores, a movie theater, dozens of restaurants and dozens of other businesses (e.g., book stores, Dollar General). What's so bad about that?

just spent some "quality" time in the Olathe Super Walmart--that was almost as fun as having lunch at Pizza Street. I did not know sweatpants were back in vogue as most of the peeps shopping were wearing their comfortable cottons (probably to help from bodily expansion after eating at the Street).

i tend to agree with you (but dont mind paying $4.99 for the Waldo Pizza buffet cause you get quality with good price--too bad its about a 60 min round trip drive from olathe). i just wish i could eat in a private room at pizza street--the clientele overwhelms my senses although i have some good pics for my mullet scrapbook.

Waldo Pizza tastes like ass.

Pizza Street does too but for $2.99 who can complain? Just a plateful of their breadstick (which are actually good) is worth the price.

Plus, since Pizza Street asks you what you want them to make, it's just about the only pizza buffet you can go to and actually usually find something you want.

Why don't you eat at Gambucci's in Olathe? Dude, you're a cheap bastard (and I don't mean that in an offensive way). :?
