There aren't any rivalries in KC/STL Sports anymore. Since the Rams suck and the ROyals suck each city has 1 good team to route for.JJack_44 wrote: Yeah I would vote for both if I could, it be fun to see KC and ST.LOU play in another rivalry

Re: NHL OR NBA, let the message board decide!!
Isn't that why the NBA would fail rather than be "OK". The college game and the pro game are vastly different. I'm not sure "college" fans will like "pro" basketball. Many college hoop fans will say, "I don't like pro basketball."One reason I think the NBA would be OK is the enormous popularity of college basketball in the area.
watch the Cavs game tonight and can you honestly say NHL?
Watch the Sabres-'Canes game Saturday and can you honestly say NBA?
Both leagues' post-seasons have been terrific this year. I watched Clips-Suns the other night and really enjoyed it, but not as much as Oilers-Sharks game 4 and Oilers-Red Wings Game 6.

Yea, but some area fans may come just to see Paul Pierce, Kareem Rush, or, uh, if K-State ever produces an NBA player again, that guy.Isn't that why the NBA would fail rather than be "OK". With NBA, maybe we could see some in KC.phxcat wrote: K-States is about to produce quite a few NBA players again.
Wow, NHL has a slight lead, but the polling is almost 50/50. Maybe there should be a 3rd option: "WHo cares? Just get KC a 3rd team!"

They're so different...like comparing college b-ball to college football. Either one would be great to have here.KCPowercat wrote: watch the Cavs game tonight and can you honestly say NHL?
I'm a bball fan....NBA
IMO hockey is cooler because it's more interesting and a little less mainstream, but NBA is hard to touch in terms of star power and match-ups.

did you watch any highlights of game 6 of the oilers and sharks? did you see the crowd? could you imagine that in the Sprint Center?KCPowercat wrote: watch the Cavs game tonight and can you honestly say NHL?

i know im bias, because i play hockey, but i also played basketball for 9 straight years. basketball is cool and very exciting at most levels. but the regular season of the nba is boring IMO, and basically the personality of the players in each sport say it all for me.

I grew up following/playing and continue to play both sports competitively/ recreationally and would strongly agree with that opinion.trailerkid wrote: They're so different...like comparing college b-ball to college football. Either one would be great to have here.

I know this city seems to be split 50/50 on this issuse. But, I think everyone wants a 3rd team here, no matter what sport it is.DowntownBryan wrote: wow, 23-22

There is nothing like Live hockey!
I know several people that dont like sports, or even just hockey, when i took them to a Blues game, they all loved it and have been to several since. Quite simply RAWKS live.

hell i took a few friends to outlaws games, while telling them this isnt near quality hockey, and right then and there they had a different opinion of the sport, maybe it was because buck o'neil fell on his ass but thats beside the point! one even bought a ticket to go watch the blues preds. hockey in person is unbelievable, i cannot describe it. i really think once the core of kansas city see's nhl games, they will want a team badly.

Re: NHL OR NBA, let the message board decide!!
So, with a third pro team in town (not including the Wiz and Brigade) Do you think that KC will get a Fox Sports Net or some other type of Sports only station?
I really love MetroSports, but their graphics, layouts, set design, are just pathetic compared to Fox Sports St. Louis... i mean, Midwest.
I say, keep all the Metro Sports personalities and anchors, and just give them a real studio.

Re: NHL OR NBA, let the message board decide!!
^That is exactly what we need. A Fox Sports Net/Metro Sports combination. But do we have to wait to get a third team before they do that?
Metro Sports talks about area colleges and local high schools too.
