Nick & Jake's will open Parkville location
The owners of Nick & Jake's restaurant in Overland Park will open a Parkville location in April or May.


Kevin Timmons, co-owner of the restaurant with Doug Watkins, told The Business Journal on Wednesday that the new restaurant will be in the Parkville Commons, which is under construction.

The shopping center's anchor will be a Price Chopper store, said Tony Borchers, director of development for River North Development LLC, the center's developer and owner. Parkville Commons also will have a YMCA and an Eckerd Drugs, he said.

Timmons wouldn't say how much the new restaurant will cost to open, but he said it will employ 50 to 60 full- and part-time employees.

Timmons said that he and Watkins picked Parkville for their second restaurant location because "it's probably a B-site now, but it'll be an A-site before too long."

The Overland Park location has posted a roughly 5 percent revenue increase each month since it opened, he said.

Timmons and Watkins own the 6,500-square-foot building in Overland Park and will lease the 6,900-square-foot building in Parkville from the shopping center's owner, which also owns The National Golf Club of Kansas City, Timmons said.
