KCP, you remember on SNL skits about the computer guys, can't remember what it was called, but they'd try to assist coworkers with simple, computer-related problems and just ended up shouting, "Move!" and doing the task themselves? I'm sure that's what you feel like doing with us forumers quite often.  :D

It was an I-D-10-T error. Sorry.

I've been compared to that guy when working with "users" (ala family members).

No problem...I had to hunt for  awhile to find it too...I think in the old version it was on by default.

It could actually just be a PEBKAC error.

I don't see a need for different themes....when you get a lot of themes, all those "alternatives" lose many of the features that people request (ignore list, etc)

hey kcp / bahua

the old way the forum was sent you an email letting you know you had mail, that was kind of cool, because you would be in your email and you would get a notification. can that come back?

The option is under your profile options. If it doesn't work, then it's broken, and I can't do anything about that.

You can there turn on the option to get email of any PM's.  You can do a lot in your profile if you just hunt around for it.
I have this option checked but it's not notifying me either.  :(

I stopped using the email notifications when I got sick of going into my email and having to archive another message. Also, I check the board often enough that I can just get a js message on here when a new message comes in. I usually see them within a couple of minutes of when they're sent.

But yeah, if people like the email thing I suppose it should probably be fixed.

From the error log:
The Error Log wrote: Ran into problems sending Mail. Error: 501 Error: malformed authentication response
Looks like the login credentials were hosed, or a new scheme is being used with the new software version.

This is probably an issue for the SMF people, but I consistently get a 500 error when I perform a search with digits in it.

Ex:

"523 Grand"      <-- no worky
"523"              <-- no worky
"Grand 523"      <-- no worky
"Grand"            <-- worky!
"Grand is cool"  <-- worky!

I honestly see no pros in the new forum.
Soo far im very dissapointed...this whole layout and the features we lost totally suck.  The next time we need an upgrade, ill gladly donate a  quad core 1gz zeon with 2tb of hot swappable bays just to ghost over and avoid any disruptions like this....thats how much I am hating this site right now.  no offense..
