Is there a trail around the DT airport? There wouldn’t be as many planes to watch but would still be nice, especially if they’re going to put bike lanes on the new bridge/repurpose the current.

I don't believe there is a trail, but the roads are not heavily utilized and lots of cyclists use that area on the weekend.

City already built a nice park for recreation and plane watching on their land south of the airport gate.
I can’t place where this is. Could you post a google maps link or something?

The city should think about making the loop a one way for vehicles and the other lane for bikes/peds once the new bridge is up. I'm sure the corp jet crowd would bitch. I'm actually sure they would knowing some recent complaints about moving terminals to the "other side".

KCI would lack variety in the planes that take off and land at the airport. Do we have many planes larger than a 737 with regular service to KC? That would comprise the entirety of the Southwest fleet while the major carriers are using mostly regional jets to service KC. I guess the cargo companies have some larger jets? Kind of dull plane spotting.

Thanks. I did not even realize the overhaul base was still functional.

So, this is the South end of concourse A. If there is to be any expansion it will be starting from right there. I wonder how long until they expand to 42 gates?

Im a bit surprised that no discussion was put into putting a hotel next to the terminal or the parking garage. Would be great to shield the massive garage with a hotel or something on the way in to the airport.

That would be awesome but I think it would cause problems with the control tower view.

So, there is a building here in San Diego that is leed platinum. Some of the design elements remind me of the new terminal.
