It means they can get supplies and equipment into the main level easier. Will dramatically speed up progress.

Another video released onto their (BuildKCI) YouTube channel. This one is aerial drone footage of the entirety of the site, and I have to say, it does an amazing job of truly capturing the scale this new terminal possesses. Once they begin with exterior finishes I imagine shots like this will be that much more impressive. Link below:

Also that’s the exact reason I had said that, the project would pick up I imagine a good clip when they can drive stuff straight to the doors of the second floor

As an aside, I had to do a 9:30 pickup a week or so ago.

It was hard to see at night, but even without lights the new terminal looms over the landscape in a way the current ones never have.

Visitors will still refer to it as the airport out in the middle of cornfields but at least it will no longer be a bus station in the middle of a corn field.

Departure level has a very new MSY feel other than ours will be a lot straighter and functional than that new terminal is

I despise the sandstone colored concrete precast that is everywhere in this city but it is what it is.

The pre-cast should not be hard to replace in the future.

I was thinking the same thing. What is with sandstone precast concrete and KC? It's everywhere there. Airport terminal looking good. I still hope they can figure out a way to spice it up a bit with art etc, it's pretty bland. But it will be a million times better than the current situation.

Precast lets you get nicer colors/styles for the equivalent cost amount of concrete masonry.
The sandstone color is supposed to be limestone esque.

Yea, precast limestone, not sandstone. Sandstone has a lot more orange-red warmth like all the big rock-cliff national parks in the southwest. Limestone is the indigenous hue of this area even if no one can afford to use the real thing anymore. Loews got a weird yellow color that sticks out like a sore thumb between the KCPA(good precast) and the KCPL(real thing).
