"The Secret Service traditionally has given pithy, private names to those whose lives they protect. The monikers are a throwback to a time when electronic communications were not encrypted, and they no longer serve a security function..."
BTW, Clinton's codename was Eagle and not Elvis! hahaha!

supastudio wrote: Obama and Biden, along with their family got there code names today. Obama is Renegade, Michelle is Renaissance, daughters Malia and Sasha are Radiance and Rosebud. Biden's codename is Celtic. I dont know if that's "C" or the "S" pronunciation. I always say the Boston Keltics instead of Seltics, just out of habit. Biden's wife is Capri. Does anbody know what Bush's codename is? If I remember correctly, Clinton's codename was Elvis.
One blessing for not having Senator McCain elected President is that his own personal code name for Cindy will not be used.

I may be right. I may be wrong. But there is a lot of gray area in-between.

Here's a clip of Obama speaking at a roast of Rahm Emmanuel in 2005. Pretty funny.

Re: ONGOING: The Obama Administration
Anyone trying to go to the Inauguration? Those tickets are some of the most coveted things right now...and I got one! My sister and boyfriend both work in the senate so I am set. Would consider renting out my apartment...but I want to be here. Some people are planning to rent their townhouses etc for that week for astronomical prices (and people are willing to pay). They are expecting something like a million and a half people to show up.

Nah, if it was successful, then the picture would no longer exist, making his bid that much less successful!Beermo wrote: i mccain was even smarter he would of jumped in his time machine and went to today and took the pic back with him.

i don't know about that. i think you can take things back with you without it disappearing. remember that movie where those navy guys ended up in 1941 flying F-14's against zeros. they did manage to eek out a win in that skirmish. and don't forget about back to the future.phxcat wrote: Nah, if it was successful, then the picture would no longer exist, making his bid that much less successful!

Re: ONGOING: The Obama Administration
having had lots of memorable moments while obama was actually here in KC, i don't think i want the hassle. i know lots of people who shouted "road trip!" on election night, but i'm sure they'll reconsider when the realize how far away it is.Midtownkid wrote:Anyone trying to go to the Inauguration? I will defer to the standard in time travel, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, but in Back to the Future, IIRC, his picture was fading out when it looked like he wouldn't be born.Beermo wrote: i don't know about that. i think you can take things back with you without it disappearing. remember that movie where those navy guys ended up in 1941 flying F-14's against zeros. they did manage to eek out a win in that skirmish. and don't forget about back to the future.

Eric Holder will be the first African-American Attorney General in US history.
Reports: Eric Holder tabbed for AG
Holder, 57, has been a judge and a top federal prosecutor in Washington as U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia and deputy attorney general, the Post said. Most recently he has been a partner in the law firm of Covington and Burling, and played an active role as an adviser in the Obama presidential campaign.
