I was about to say, go ahead! And then I looked at the link, which, in the references in popular culture, lists Nate Silver, a writer for Baseball prospectus, who wrote a column called "Lies, damned lies", but also, incidentally, is the fivethirtyeight.com blogger who called the Zogby poll out in the first place!

Board libs will be THRILLED to know:

The Times has learnt that the Huffington Post, her influential political website, will confirm within the next week that it has completed a $15 million (£10 million) fundraising from investors.

The money will finance the expansion of HuffPo, as it is known, into the provision of local news across the United States and into more investigative journalism. And it will ensure that Ms Huffington's influence continues to spread across the US political scene.

You call me a lib and I'm not thrilled. In fact, I don't care at all. Just in case you're keeping score.

What's funny is he and I probably have fairly similar voting records.

I heard she's getting a $7m book advance.    Hope she cuts some of that check to McCain for putting her in the situation.

Or that she procures a decent ghostwriter/biographer, since I'm not sure how great a background reading "all of the magazines and newspapers" has given her, literarily speaking.

So apparently the Palin 2012 folks are busy trying to spin Saxby Chamblis' run off win as a huge public endorsement of her since she campaigned for him - couldn't have possibly had anything to do with Obama not being on top of the ballot and much smaller voter turn out - America just can't get enough Sarah.  &&&&

It is telling tho, that McCain wasn't campaigning for him down there.

Glad Dems couldn't get to 60. That would've been dangerous.

So the idiot governor of Illinois was dense enough to let himself get caught trying to sell Obama's senate seat?

At least Blago's been universally, bipartisanly reviled.  Everyone, regardless of party affiliation, has long seemed to hate this guy's ass.  Except reportedly Emil Jones, I guess. His gubernatorial bids mark the only times in my life I've not voted Democrat (outside of municipal elections, anyway). Dirtbag.  I was working in print journalism in Illinois at the time, and to all of us "downstate," (regardless of my being due west of Chicago and not in any way, shape, or form, south, but it's an Illinois thing), it was painfully evident that he was running for governor of Chicago, not governor of Illinois. There's no downstate machine with pockets deep enough for his scams.
