Would bets placed at a P&L sportsbook be subjected to sales tax and/or help pay off the debt for the project.
I am unfamiliar with how taxation works in existing casinos

A lot of theater operators might be filing for bankruptcy -- if they already haven't.

I’m not familiar with how local city taxes work but I know casinos get taxed a massive amount by the state. 35+%. A decent casino can do 12-25 million a month in revenue.normalthings wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 2:16 am Would bets placed at a P&L sportsbook be subjected to sales tax and/or help pay off the debt for the project.

Kevin confirms B&B is in talks to take over Mainstreet Theater.

It would be great to have them downtown, arguably a more family friendly than Alamo which might present some programming opportunities. I don't feel the need to add reclining seats, but whatever. I'll still miss Alamo, but I'd patronize a B&B!

It's good to see a true local company taking on the project. The 30s aged VP level are Liberty grads.
It's so local that their about page has a family photo.

I understand Alamo, I just hated it. The seats sucked and the kitch programming and Rocky Horror and texting on the screen, I just didn't get it. AMC when it was there was the perfect theater, imo. Hopeful for B&B...if that happens.smh wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 10:09 am Kevin confirms B&B is in talks to take over Mainstreet Theater.

Re: Power and Light District Official Tenant List
looks from the website like B&B is at least open to serving beer at some locations so that's good, but i have never been to one before and must ask.... coke? or pepsi?
Re: Power and Light District Official Tenant List
I pretty much only ever went to first run stuff there. I did go see Alien once--had never seen it and took the opportunity to see it on the big screen.beautyfromashes wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 10:54 amI understand Alamo, I just hated it. B&B has a theater complex up North in Liberty that has adult only screens where you can get food and alcohol served I believe. Plus it also as a restaurant bar attached to it, all in the same complex. I would assume the current setup Alamo had would allow them to copy the concept 100% and plug it into the existing building. Then add any other touches they want.
Personally I enjoy the concept of being served food & drinks in an adult only screening. In fact it is pretty much the main way I see movies with my wife now (when we could ).
Alamo was cool, but if we can get another KC company to have a spotlight property in a heavy tourist area (yes we will see tourists again) I think that is a bonus.

Looks like they added bowling lanes to some of their properties. would be a cool addition in that sliver parking lot to the south. https://www.bbtheatres.com/b-roll-bowling/

Many on here have been wanting Cordish to make moves exactly like this one. There are many great local concepts that would work very well in the district instead of pulling from Atlanta or Denver or Baltimore. Bristol has been one of the only tenants for the life of the district. I hope BRGR can hold on. Rally House is a good concept though I hate they had to give them that location to come in. The Mixx is a good concept but probably could be run better. Joe's. Local places have staying power.
Re: Power and Light District Official Tenant List
Mixx is gone, right?

Not true. When Alamo came in they put in different seats instead of the AMC leather recliners. They also put tall bench tables in front of the seats that were so annoying because they actually blocked the bottom part of the screen. The Alamo seats were very vertical, almost straight up.
