Meshuggah opened today. We got there just after 7; by a quarter after, the line was to the door.

The 2 studios available are going for $2.40 and $2.61 a square foot respectively. One Light opened closer to $1.5 to $1.75 iirc.

I'm not sure if this was ever mentioned before, or if Cordish started allowing it, but I found an Airbnb at One Light. It's operated by Execustay, so maybe Cordish made an exemption if in fact Airbnb’s aren’t allowed.

Reason why I think this is because I thought I saw on the Two Light thread at some point, and the BPV thread on UrbanSTL, that AirBNB units in Cordish residential towers aren’t allowed. So I assume that if I remember correctly, that policy extended to One Light.

Just with the little peek out the windows, it looks to be a nice view.

I hate Airbnb with a passion. Wound be disappointing if cordish started to allow this.

Most places do have furnished executive apartments though, so that might just be this. It's a thin line between the two, but not as bad

What’s your main issue with them? I’ve only ever used it for stays, never hosted, but I’ve had wonderful experiences with them. Is it the issue of different guests in the building causing problems?

I agree. AirBNB is a scourge. It is a perversion to the real estate market.

Hospitality segments of the city and neighbors to AirBNB venues are huge losers. If AirBNB ceased to exist; it would not harm anyone other than property speculators who buy and host at the expense of their neighborhood.

If property management of the One Light/Two Light properties permit AirBNB; the consequences would be profound.

My home in Florida -- a very small cluster of nicely manicured homes on the Intracoastal waterway is surrounded by three sides of water; and a gate to the street. We have a club, pool, and spa on the water; as it is a common benefit. We spend $750 per month for landscape and maintenance.

In late 2018/2019 couple of Jabarrones decided it would be nice to make a few dollars on the side using AirBNB. I am told they would get $250-$500 per night, depending on season. Suddenly, this secured community had strangers driving along; as the units' entry code into the main gate was published on the AirBNB site.

In early 2018, we spent $60,000 in new cameras, gates, RFID fobs for each of our cars; and some jerk publishes their code to the public.

The renters were normally good. A few were not. The homes association is working to forbid any leasing whatsoever.

In a 2-Light building; if I found my secured building was letting one-night stand tenants through the security infrastructure? Long-term tenants should scream "bloody murder".

Execustay has leased multiple units at One Light since opening.

I wonder if Execustay is getting desperate and trying to rent out via AirBnB to help pay their lease. Much like the rental market, this pandemic could cause many tourist/travel companies to go bankrupt.

Airbnb is definitely still not allowed at either building.

It takes what is supposed to be an apartment community and turns it into a hotel. I've found guests, even when they try to do the right thing, have very little understanding or respect for the place they're staying. Taking the trash out means throwing all their shit in the trash room like we have a cleaning service that comes around all day.

There's a place for people that will babysit them and clean up after them and make sure they don't bother their neighbors. It's called a hotel
