Reference in the Biz journal about money for Cordish to begin the residential component of the P&L district. This has to be a misprint or I completely misunderstood the snipet.

This would be nice to see for KC. I mean, even Pittsburgh is putting up some big towers. KC needs one, just one nice modern condo tower to go up downtown.

It was supposed to be like 35 stories (including hotel component), but I would bet that if this does happen, it would end up being about 6-10 floors which is better than nothing.

Since the vacant parcel at 13th and Walnut isn't very big, it causes me to wonder if anyone knows if the garage next to Cosentino's was designed to have a high-rise building built on top of it later?

A long time ago, before any of it was finished, Cordish was saying they wanted the tower to be skinny so it could be taller. They said it would be more expensive, but more impressive too.

That tower was to go on the lot and on building where the jones pool is now.

It only has 250 units. I wish it had more, but hopefully, it will spur more people willing to invest in projects like this downtown.

This project is going to be awesome. Very excited to have that corner filled in, not to mention the skyline addition, the rental units, the increased tax base and sales for P&L. In fact, I feel a little like this:

It's about time. I hope it fills up quickly after completion, and Cordish sees that as a sign for build the three other planned towers in stages.

35 stories would have been amazing...but that included the hotel portion. 23 stories is still the tallest residential building construction in KC history...not bad.

The design though is boring...but as stated...it's not the design, just a placeholder.

Yeah, they haven't selected an architect yet. That's just a conceptual design for now.

Kudos to Cordish for continuing to invest in KC, they could've pulled out.

I imagine that there would be parking issues if they built it taller. There has to be some parking set aside for public use because the Midland Theater and Copaken Stage patrons also use that garage in the evenings.

The parking garage, which also serves the Cosentino Market, would have 432 spaces reserved for residents of the One Power & Light tower and the Midland residences. The grocery store will continue to have 127 spaces and another 241 spaces will be available to the public for general use.
