Snow Creek Scion Open Rail Jam February 7th at LIVE block

i know you guys hate it when i post about the ice terrace or snow creek, no one is interested, got it.

but this event is cool as fuck!! they are bringing dumptrucks ( 10 in all ) downtown to build this massive 1.5 story tall scaffolding system with scaffolding and snow, to do this huge scion open rail jam for snow boarders. great outdoor winter event for kc that will generate good publicity for snow creek and the power and light district. friecken awesome.

The third and final stop to this year’s tournament is scheduled for Feb 7th in downtown Kansas City’s brand new Power and Light District! Come check it out when the Scion Open takes over the Live block for one day of the most exciting snowboard competition ever to happen in the Midwest! This venue will feature a rail jam style competition on a scaffolding system that is a story and a half tall, fifty feet wide, and one hundred feet long in the middle of downtown KC! DJ “AK “will be performing for the spectators as well as other live bands. Local riders will get a chance to ride with some of the top professional riders in the world! This unique event will be open to the public and anyone can enter and give it a try. Be sure to mark your calendar for Feb. 7th, this is sure to be an event people will be talking about for a long time!

I wonder what the rules would be for something like this?  I remember Beermo talking about getting tossed for having a monopod in the living room awhile back.  Do they have the 'no detachable lenses' rule too?  Special superseding rules for the event?

According to the website, weather by damned, "the snow must go on."

Do they charge admission, or can you just walk in and watch?  This sounds really cool.

they are making the snow last nite, tonite, and tomorrow nite, bringing it in - in dumptrucks. much like at any ski resort, they just make a thick base and the weather means little to nothing.

admission as far as i know is free to watch and or register, but am not sure about the registering part, may be a fee. free to anyone to watch.

Cool!  KCTigerfan - any idea on the camera policies?  Looked on both the P&L and Scion web sites and all I can find are rules about my jeans and chains. 

The GF is a big fan of the winter X games type stuff so I expect we will at least stop by.

i am talking to snow creek right now in facebook, they said cameras are allowed of any kind. only issues would be tied to non press taking up too much room if the crowd swells.
