Will they quit showing games on the big screen when Sister Hazel starts playing?

I ended up watching the second half of the National Championship game at KC Live. There were about 400-500 people there (guessing). All the bars were open and they had the beer carts out as well. It was a great atmosphere to watch the game. I hope they continue to show big events on the big screen.

This venue is a great addition to the P/L area and should be a natural gathering place for all sorts of big events. They made an announcement that they were even showing the Royals opening day game on the big screen. Thought that was pretty cool.

It's almost like having a downtown ballpark.

Except it was easy to park.

It'd be great if they did that for every game that doesn't conflict with their concert schedule.

On another note, I've heard several people suggest that once a month the KC Live stage should have a karaoke night.  Imagine karaoke blasted on those speakders with the singer on that huge screen.  It could be a lot of fun.

I think pre and post game rallies for the royals complete with bus transportion to the game would be a big hit.

I ran into 2-3 groups of suburban dwellers who were going to the p&l after the game.

That would be AWESOME. I love how in St. Louis most bars around the city will provide free transportation to Cards and Blues games.

The bus transportation already exists.  "2008 Royals Express" picks up fans at 10th and Main.

The really cool part:  "The Royals Express $6 roundtrip express ticket saves on your game ticket. Simply pay the fare and your Express operator will issue a ticket you can present at the Royals Ticket Window, where you'll automatically receive $6 off your game ticket."  Sit in the cheap seats and you're looking at a pretty inexpensive evening.

Problems:  Looks like it takes about 45-60 minutes to get there from DT.  Don't know if you can bring a cooler on the bus.  Who doesn't like drinking a few beers in the parking lot before the game?

Yea, I've taken the Royals Express. Its a bit slow since it has to make so many stops. I would think a small bus that goes directly from P&L to the game and back for free (or with P&L validation or something) would be pretty awesome.

I don't really understand the route either.  Seems like it would be more efficient for the bus to pick up the Crowne Center people first, pick up the DT people second, and then jump on 670 to I-70.  Is Linwood faster?

No, but it gives out of towners a wonderful tour of the eastside ghetto and the abandoned leeds industrial district!

The big screen is nice but it could be bigger, crisper and generally mo betta.  As great as this area is as a real functioning venue that has an integrated vibe unmatched in the city, it would probably be worth a major upgrade of that big screen.  The outdoor alcohol sales alone should be able to get a CBA payback in just a year.

I couldn't agree more, especially after seeing the board at the K yesterday and knowing what is available.
