KC Explorers
Re: KC Explorers
So...I was thinking of going to an Explorers match and checking out the new digs.
I'm checking the schedule and find that the entire season is between July 7th and the 26th.
That's crazy!

Just got an email from the DTC:
The DTC Special lets you purchase a single game ticket, regularly priced at $25, for only $10! Just mention that you are a member of the Downtown Council to receive this special.
Questions? Call the Explorers box office at (816) 513- 5630.

Yeah, I got that, too. That's why I was looking at their site.
Even though I'm not a member I'd still like to go. But most of the season is over already. I had no idea it was that quick.

Re: KC Explorers
Sounds to me like receiving the email is enough to get the discount. There is a match tonight, and a couple next week.

Re: KC Explorers
Explorers start the year 6-0 (they lost on Sunday). From the Star on Friday night's match:
Barney Allis Plaza was packed. Everyone was there to see Bob and Mike Bryan make their only home appearance for the Explorers.
And nothing — even a long rain delay and 15-10 deficit — was going to keep the world’s top-ranked doubles team from giving the near-sellout crowd of 2,364 the show they wanted.

Dead time following Wimbledon and before US Open.AllThingsKC wrote: I don't understand why their season is only 3 weeks long. :-k
That's about 7 weeks, an eternity in the tennis game.
Most pros that are competitive, tho, play the hardcourt tourneys in places like Toronto, Indy, etc. They serve as warmups to the US Open.

Re: KC Explorers
The Kansas City Explorers will play in the Championship Game...which will be in Kansas City for the first time ever. So, it will be a nice little event in Downtown KC.
The bad news: it will be played during the Wizards/Man U game.
