I like the idea of a 30,000 seat stadium. The days are gone of 40k+ baseball stadiums. Arizona is already wanting to downsize

30k would be the next to smallest in the league. Our current stadium is about the average size today.
Going that small would be a mistake.

Post 2000 they're all built at 37-45k
Before 2000 back to the 1980s built ones the current stadiums remaining are all 37-50k

So the size went down a little but not much
Arizona built what is today the 4th largest. They could downsize by 20% and build at 38k and match the current trend

Since 2010-
Arlington's will be 40k
Atlanta built 41k
Miami 36k
Minneapolis 38k

Miami's old stadium was roughly the same capacity
Atlanta moved down from 49k. so they dropped by ~20%
Arlington's current is 43k

The biggest change was Minneapolis moving from 55k. But they moved to around the 40k point in response

Sounds like they are supposed to use a minor league field. Omaha there they go?

Omaha, Wichita or Springdale. STL already took Springfield.

They are all within about 25 miles of each other in distance. Supposed to be a facility within 100 miles. STL had to get an exception because there was nothing closer. I'm sure KC won't be the only other one.

First off, I never said I had a problem with the name "Indians". The only name that I can think of that I find offensive is "Redskins", which is the Native American equivalent of "N-word". I assume you are joking about the Pirates.

Yes the Chiefs old logos were offensive, and it is a testament to Lamar Hunt that he was able to abandon those old relics at the request of reasonable Native American groups. I don't find the Braves, Chiefs, Blackhawks, Illini, or even the Redskins logos offensive. But Chief Wahoo is, and always has been a joke at the expense of Native Americans. And we don't exactly have a strong track record of treating Native Americans well.

I assume the rumors must have already been bouncing around the social media cesspools, but yeah when that post came up a few days ago I was looking around at the usual major outlets and nobody had anything until today.

Anyway, it's obviously long overdue, and time as well for other organizations, including the Chiefs, to do the right thing too.
