They are still interested in Donnie Edwards as well. The Chiefs stll need a D-lineman, and a wide receiver.

Re: Chiefs
Not anymore. He is now a Miami Dolphin. Harris replacing Mitchell huh? Seems kind of odd. Statistically Mitchell is a better player. At least he was last year. We may be in for a tough season this year if these are the sorts of "upgrades" the Chiefs are gonna be making.KCMax wrote: Joey Porter is now available.

I fail to see how he was the Raiders MLB since he hasn't played with them in 2 years.KCMax wrote: Chiefs have signed Raiders MLB Napoleon Harris to a 6 year deal.

Statistically they are fairly equal, although Kawika has put up a lot more total tackles than Harris has the past 2 seasons. The thing is though, Harris has only played with horrible teams...Raiders and the Vikings...maybe he fits in better with the scheme of things under Edwards.

Re: Chiefs
Well, our "team" as a whole might not have been horrible but our defense stunk it up with the best of them. A little improvement last year but the very back of the pack the year before. I don't look for anything better this year either if we don't patch up the interior of our D line with some decent players.KansasCityCraka wrote: I fail to see how he was the Raiders MLB since he hasn't played with them in 2 years.

Agent: Chiefs ask Green to restructure contract
The former Pro Bowl quarterback's agent, Jim Steiner, said Tuesday that the team is seeking to restructure Green's contract, which will pay him $7.2 million next season. The Chiefs are also entertaining offers for Green, who missed eight games last season with a severe concussion.
"We're going to look and see what his options are," Steiner said. "We're going to do that."

Re: Chiefs
so did we already get rid of mitchell? Why not just keep him..we have plenty of cap..and would have an amazing LB corps if we had him, dj, and harris. Why should we waste the money of a proven product on another stupid draft pick that will demand just as much money????

Kawika is still under contrat for this upcoming season...they may look for trades or just hang onto him for another year.

Re: Chiefs
i hate to say it but it would be in our best interest to let him go, he has the freedom to talk to other teams... arent the texans looking for a good QB... Carr could come here and help us out.KCMax wrote: Agent: Chiefs ask Green to restructure contract

Re: Chiefs
Actually he isn't. Kawika is an Unrestricted Free Agent. He is free to go where ever he wants. He was in New Orleans last week, but did not get a contract there.KansasCityCraka wrote: Kawika is still under contrat for this upcoming season...they may look for trades or just hang onto him for another year.

Surprised no one else has mentioned this yet. ESPN.com reporting that the Chiefs have signed Donnie Edwards to a three year deal.

THAT IS GOOD NEWS! BUT WE STILL NEED A D' LINEMAN. OKOYE, FROM LOUISVILLE WOULD BE A NICE DRAFT PICK, IF HE IS THERE AT #24.

Re: Chiefs
Does that make up for the mistake of letting Donnie Edwards go in the first place?
Jordan Black will no longer be laying down the red carpet at Arrowhead for opposing DE as he has signed with Houston. Good luck David Carr!
