Re: Topeka Pilots
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) The Topeka Pilots announced Friday morning that they will be flying out of the Capital City for good at the end of this season.
In a letter posted to the team's Facebook Page, owner Lamar Hunt, Junior, said the team will be moving to the Kansas City Metro area for the upcoming 2020-2021 season.
Clark said the move was approved by a unanimous vote of the NAHL Board of Governors.
Hunt said the decision was not easy, but it gives the franchise "the best opportunity for growth and success."
A sports ownership group led by Lamar Hunt, Jr., purchased the then Topeka RoadRunners hockey team in April of 2018.
