Re: 2011 Kansas City Command
Wow! Thanks for the pics! Can't wait for the return of Arena Football! It's a shame that due to Sprint Center's busy March schedule, the Command will start the first 4 weeks of the season on the road (including a bye week). The Home opener is Saturday, April 9th.
Couldn't we have gone over to Kemper to at least get a home game in there. Oh well...GO COMMAND! Can't wait for the season!

Re: 2011 Kansas City Command
Any idea on how many people they can expect to average this year at games? I never made it to a brigade game. I'm not really down on the command name, but that would hardly stop me from attending.KCRoyal wrote: Wow! Thanks for the pics! Can't wait for the return of Arena Football! I know this won't be an issue next year since the Big 12 Tournament won't be here, but couldn't we have gone over to Kemper to at least get a home game in there. Oh well...GO COMMAND! Can't wait for the season!

Re: 2011 Kansas City Command
The best attendance average last year was Tampa Bay at just over 15K a game. No one else averaged over 12K. The Brigade averaged almost 13K in 2008. I think we can easily see 13K a game if not more since the team was gone for 2 years. Its a whole new team, new coaches, new ownership. It pretty much like getting a new team.
The Sprint Center holds 17,297 for Arena Football.

Re: 2011 Kansas City Command
Anybody know if any other channels will pick up the games on TV besides the NFL Network?

Re: 2011 Kansas City Command
As of right now I do not believe anything is in place for the Command.
Re: 2011 Kansas City Command
I guess the games will be broadcast online. Hey, better than nothing.

Wow. Didn't even know the season started.
I may be right. I may be wrong. But there is a lot of gray area in-between.
Re: 2011 Kansas City Command
yep. They lost last night to San Jose, 60-57. At least they got some fight in them, but are 0-2 in the young season.aknowledgeableperson wrote: Wow. Didn't even know the season started.
Re: 2011 Kansas City Command
Hopefully a big crowd will show for the home opener tomorrow TODAY! And hopefully the team gets their first win.

Re: 2011 Kansas City Command
Well, they got the win. But, as of right now, I can find nothing that says what the attendance was.
KC is the way to be!
Re: 2011 Kansas City Command
Can't say there were more than 5,000 at Sprint Center. The crowd was still loud, but alot of empty seats in certain areas. Obviously a still relatively foreign sport + gas prices + a 0-3 record are all factors.
Re: 2011 Kansas City Command
Command are now 1-4 after last night's loss to Arizona. Next game is @ Chicago next Friday.

Re: 2011 Kansas City Command
As of right now they are averaging around 4,800 a game. I really wouldn't be surprised if they don't even make it past this season. And if they do, there is no way they can stay at the sprint center.
Re: 2011 Kansas City Command
I really wouldn't be surprised if that happend. Or maybe a move back to Kemper?aknowledgeableperson wrote: given the crowd maybe a move to the Independence Center is is the cards.

Re: 2011 Kansas City Command
Maybe they need to bring the Brigade name back or do a little more marketing, i don't think a lot of people realize an arena team is back in action
This year, they are averaging 4172 fans, that is awful, even though the economy is bad, they should be at least averaging 7-8k
Look at previous years, that is better then some NBA team averages
2006 - 15234
2007 - 11894
2008 - 12828
