Best Ballparks in America Ranked
I don't agree with this list, they have the K rank lower than the Angles and Oakland ballparks, what?

Re: Best Ballparks in America Ranked
They used winning % and attendance in their rankings.
Personally, I love the K, the bones of the stadium, the conveniences of the renovations, but the preponderance of video boards make the entire experience a low class, sappy sweet overindulgence of in your face advertising and flash/bang sensory assault.
They ruined one of the best venues, that captured the essence of the pastoral nature of the beautiful game, by degrading it to a casino atmosphere.

Re: Best Ballparks in America Ranked
Our attendance has actually been good (for KC) so far this year. We're averaging 75% capacity. This weekend ought to help.
My biggest problem isn't the visual assault, but the noise. The music, the attempts to "get loud" and "make noise" are annoying. And don't even get me started on "everybody clap your hands".
Not sure I understand the video board comment. There's the large screen in the outfield that's visible when you're in your seat. Otherwise, what other video boards are assaulting your senses?shinatoo wrote:They used winning % and attendance in their rankings.

10 foot by 30 foot long board above the Rivals sports bar
10 foot by 30 foot long board on the Hall of fame
2 10 foot by 30 foot long boards in the left cent and right center outfield walls
5 foot high banner board that runs the entire length of the stadium on the front of the lodge level
And yes, the audio is equally as bad.

I got it. Wasn't sure if you were talking about the TVs everywhere in the concourse. The ones you pointed out don't bother me much because they are providing information about the game/league (count, pitch speed, out of town scores) - which I love to have. And the ones on the Loge level around the stadium are just new versions of the ones that have always been there. But, they do feature ads now, which can be a little annoying.shinatoo wrote:10 foot by 30 foot long board above the Rivals sports bar

Overall, I don't feel like they distract me from the game, but - like I said - I do see your point.

the ones in the wall are the most annoying, with the chain link fence in front.

I have not been to the K since the renovations. Hope to make it up over the summer.shinatoo wrote:They used winning % and attendance in their rankings.

Denver's park is overrated. The location beats the K's location by a wide margin but the visual setting was so negatively impacted by airline tourist class seating that it made it a less than enjoyable experience for me and my tall frame. And I had expensive seats. I was hoping no foul ball came my way as I was so shoehorned into the seat, I wouldn't be able to maneuver out of the way.

that's an awful list. they couldn't even be bothered to have a modern image of the k (angels' stadium is also an ancient picture). the trop and oakland's stadium being anywhere above 25 is a joke.

Maybe they haven't visited the K since the renovations. If they haven't, then I can understand the ranking.

So Sports on Earth has been running a bracket to get a fan vote on the best stadium in MLB. The finals are today. #21 PNC vs #6 Kauffman.

Re: Best Ballparks in America Ranked
until i read the article explaining how they seeded the stadiums, i was about to say how stupid it was to have pnc park at #21. it could be a sandlot with a rusty, chain-link fence as the outfield wall and a couple rows of wooden bleachers and it'd still be higher than #21 just on the view from home plate.shinatoo wrote:So Sports on Earth has been running a bracket to get a fan vote on the best stadium in MLB.
