We are still driving by bodies of water in New York. It is 8/03/08.

Now for the other direction.

I would like to get up there sometime.  The mountans look pretty impressive even though they top out at ~5500'.  Reminds me a lot of Scotland actually.  Did you make it to Lake Placid?

We had planned to go there. We were in the general area of Thousand Islands. We could not find a place to stay in Watertown so we had to drive all the way back to Syracuse. Then we ran out of time. We would like to have gone to Lake Champlain, but not this time. Rural New York is not a place to wing it. My son beat himself over the head for not having researched our itinerary better. He thought we wasted a lot of time, but I never ran out of picture subjects.

The look on the German Shepherd made me chuckle a bit.

That one was my favorite of the twelve pictures I posted last week.

These last two were taken in Virginia, on the way back to Roanoke.
