STL Dan! Need some info. if possible...

Hey, I've been reading, learning and investigating St. Louis lately and I've got a few questions for you that I've been unable to find satisfying answers to : first, what do you think of St. Louis Centre; I've read that it's a large (4 story?) mall in the heart of downtown linking Famous Barr and Dillards. Is it successful and/or better than Union Station? What do people in Stl think about it...I hadn't even heard about it until I stumbled across it in a book and I have lot of family there. Second, how is the Metrolink? Is it safe/clean, most importantly, usable for my next trip to Stl? Third, how would you describe the state of downtown St. Louis as well as the urban core compared to Kansas City. It seems Stl may be a bit ahead of us in some ways as the number of projects and ideas in motion downtown makes evident...(?)

Much as I love Stl also, I do feel a bit dirty asking all of these questions and learning the ways of our cross state rival 8) but hey, god bless the great state of Missouri for having two such wonderful cities

oh yes thanks for any info as well!
are we spinning free?

ST Louis Centre is almost dead.

Metrolink is clean safe and convenient to many places.

STL urban is ahead in some ways and behind in others than KC.

Metrolink is safe and clean, like about any other light rail project. I took it a couple years ago to the Cardinals game- it goes through Forest Park (where you will find most St. Louis attractions) from the airport to downtown, so it is a good way to see the city.

Ah yes, I remember riding the Metrolink from the Airport to East St. Louis after 11pm. All the white folks departed at the Casino Queen. We decided to stay on and ride it out. It was nice hearing voices behind us (deep in E. Louie) say,"What the f*ck are them white people still on here for? They have no business being over here at night."
The Pendergast Poltergeist Project!

I finally divorced beer and proposed to whiskey, but I occassionally cheat with fine wine.
