If you spend much time contemplating your navel at White Sands National Monument, be sure and wear sunscreen. The reflective nature of the sand will turn you into a cinder in 20 minutes, and that isn't mentioned in the travel information.

St Louis is a great vacation site. Cheap, there's loads do do for almost any age/interest, its very centrally located, it's got loads of history and character, good food, etc.NDTeve wrote:St Louis was an interesting addition.
