Ehhhh....wrong. Maulls and pork steaks are made for each other. :-)

It must be something in the air on the east side of the state. My friends in Chesterfield also like Maull's. But when we are together on vacation they do like the sauce us KC folks bring for our grilling.

KC does have great sauces. No doubt. Anything other than maulls on pork steaks, though, just tastes wrong for some reason.

I like Onion Bits flavored Maull's on thin sliced pork steaks over a really hot grill...it's almost like the piece of meat is fried in sugar. I'm about ready to go to a "ghetto" south city shop 'n save and get sum far the game.

Is it a StL thing about liking thin cut ribeyes on the grill. Our friends there gets these from the butcher and then puts them on the grill frozen. Cook them a little bit, slop some sauce on them, and that's dinner.

Don't know what it is about thin sliced meat on the grill.

Seems like it would be really easy to overcook.

They seem to like their beef, what I call, "dead". No red or pink.

Yeah, that'd be way overcooked in my world. Of course, I'll eat just about any meat raw--depending on where it came from.

My dad always charred the steak when we had it as a kid...maybe it comes from the idea the pork should be cooked well...st. louis is as much of a pork city as beef, maybe a little more pork....guess it depends on the family.

I remember their TV commercials as a kid in the 60's - "Don't baste that bar-b-q....Maull it!"
