Awesome photos TP.  Nothing but the best from you as usual.  Hope you enjoyed your little trip up to Weston.  I've always kinda dug that little town.

Thanks Toss.  Weston is a great day trip from KC and has a real diversity of neat things in and around it.  If you are into antiques, there are some great deals to be had.  Took my mother up there last time I was in town.  I understand it has some nice restaurants to...unfortunately, we did not get to sample any.

Looks like my car. Was this a Ford Taurus?

Is McCormicks (spirits distillery) still in business up there?

Spoiler on back made me think it was a Taurus. Mine has the same spoiler design.

I think so. I recall seeing signs for it today anyway.

It is, but I know so for a different reason than Toss.  :puke:

Cute little town...the architecture, history, river, and restaurants. Looks like they even have "rowhouses".

Thanks for the photo tour.

A couple of my friends have been co-owners/co-managers of O'Malley's for a couple of years but I only just went there for the very first time two Sundays ago.  That place is absolutely amazing.  A friend and I hosted a private party there, we were in the second chamber down... the small one before you enter the big multi-level bottom room.  Here's a pic from the party...

BTW, the Weston Bend State Park just outside of town is also a great place to visit.  Some fantastic views there and also some great hiking.

I want to ride out there and go camping one of these days.  Are their formal campsites or can one just go out there and find a spot and call it home for the night?

They have an organized campground.  Not sure if they allow primitive camping.  But the hiking sure is great.

Not allowing primitive camping?  What the heck?  Even our preserved spaces have to be experienced with RVs these days?

I might just head out there and set up a tent somewhere and wait to get yelled at.

Each state park is a little different.  It depends on whether they have trails geared towards backpacking or just day hiking. The former is usually found in the larger parks in the Ozarks.  I believe Weston Bend State Park is more of the latter, but you'd have to check with the park office to verify.
