Didn't see this until now...

It wasn't a problem - we just had the chicken fried chicken special, which was great.

Good to hear George is doing better. We'll hit the Hungarian Nite next chance I get.

anyone know what's up with the "bleacher" section for shows?  I'm worried that GA might be inside grinders at this point.  nice lineup so far, more to come I hope?

Can someone fill me in on VIP? I told my mom I'd get her Costner tickets. Not sure if VIP will increase her chances to meet him and get the photo op.

Always difficult..It depends on the band..VIP is a section up front and gated off . higher end booze, snacks, access to West plus a few more benefits. We cant guarantee the artist will do photos.

But I'd bet if she wears something sexy, she can get a photo with STRETCH.

Touch his feet??? She said something about whisping him away to the field of dreams. I'll send you a photo so the bouncers will be ready for her...

So she will be much closer with the VIP, huh? I don't think I've seen VIP at any of the shows I've been to. Cracker was pretty easy to get up close if you wanted.

Matt one of the cooks at Grinders fell off a 2 story balcony and died today. He was the one who always had a mohawk and tats.

Some friends of mine were at the Reel Big Fish show last night and left after the concert was rained out before the headlining band took the stage.  They said they left after a few minutes of the crowd chanting "Rain or shine!  Rain or shine!" when they saw others leaving.  Out of curiosity, did the show ever resume later?

No, the band refused to go on, the equipment was wet and lightning continued. It was a great show, English Beat loves the venue and KC. Super Villians also played and KC crowd kept them up for quite awhile. Thanks KC always good to hear the bands love the city.

Cool.  They were hoping the show didn't resume later, since that would mean they missed out after leaving.  :)

I tried Grinders out for the first time Wednesday... Unfortunately it was also the very first time I ever walked out on a food establishment.
We got there around 6:50 and grabbed a table. Since neither I nor my friend were too hungry, I just ordered a regular order of death wings. Around 7:30, other than the waters, nothing came out. So we waited ten more minutes before finally leaving.
I'm a very patient guy, but 50 min is pretty steep. That and there were some fairly perishable groceries in the car.

Is it like that all the time, or was that just a really bad day? The servers did seem pretty stressed out.

In any case, I'm willing to give the place a second chance. Probably go earlier next time.

was there a concert going on?  Usually i avoid the place when there are concerts.  But who knows, there was a period last year where the service was consistently shitty for a few months, and i just stopped going, but then they improved and i've been largely satisfied since then.

Now that you bring up complaints though....

I went in a couple of weeks ago and ordered the two-fer special (ordered one slice of pepperoni, one slice of sausage), it's pretty much the same thing i've ordered ever since i started coming in (way back when they first opened).  And for the first time in all the time i've gone the server handed me my bill with each slice charged individually.

I spoke to the waitress, pointed out what i assumed was a mistake and she told "nope, the two fer only applies if you order two slices of the same thing"

?????

I explained i've been ordering the same thing for as long as i can remember coming in, and i've never had an issue.  The waitress said "it's been the same policy since we started.  i'll have to make sure the other servers remember it".

W. T. F.  This was the older short haired blonde gal, whom I figure knows her stuff since she's been around for a while, so i saw no point in arguing it.  If this is the actual policy, why doesn't it say that on the  menu?  The menu doesn't make any mention that both slices have to be the same kind of pizza.

Anyone else had this issue?
