I'm just talking about KC area but I guess we could expand it. Their was a rumor that Dillions coming back to Olathe. kroger has a location in Rola,MO Gerbes is in Camdenton,Versailles and so on.

Whole Foods will open in Olathe.

Streetcar line will be completed but might not be operational.

Royals won't start building a new stadium.

Many more people will move downtown.

New airport won't be close to being finished.

I suppose a TDD approach could move faster, mayor be damned. But a new TDD would have to be set up wouldn't it? If so, it's hard to believe there could be a vote this year. ...

A petition would need to be filed soon. A rough timeline of last year went something like petition in January, decision in April, election in August. IIRC.

This is the Show Me state. It wouldn't be wise to try again until everyone can see the streetcar running. Is plausible not only another line could be approved after that but also get enough people excited about commuter rail from some of the burbs.
