You know, I know some other out of town BBQ aficionados who share that view, but I really don't get it.

These are all helpful..and many I have never eaten..looks like I have a full meal ticket in the next couple weeks..anyone want to tour some places?

Word is that the Burger Stand @ Dempsey's in Lawrence is being scouted for DDD. Prob one of the only worthy places in this burg. I'm guessing DDD will be in the area and it's only a matter of when...

I'm always up for touring places, as long as I can fit it in...hopefully schedule eases soon.

Haven't tried it myself (yet), but any joint in a gas station automatically qualifies as a dive in my opinion. Who knows if they'll survive long enough for the show to film at it, but you never know. I love OK Joes, but I'd rather they go somewhere in KC without OK in the name.

I've only been once (the one by Bichelmeyer's) - and was not impressed.

Hell - they should go on Saturday to Bichelmeyer's. Street tacos, carnitas and tamales.

I hope Quicks gets the nod. They deserve some publicity as they fly under the radar in the sea of KC BBQ.

I was under the impression there only is one Quicks in kc...the Lawrence location was torn down about 5 years ago.
