Lunched here today.  Wonderful!

Split the steak sandwich and enjoyed a bowl of the soup special, French Onion.  Perfect food at 10 degrees.

The gf had the potato soup and that's my choice next time.

T/w people enjoying the Reuben and a pastrami.  Both said they were very good. The meat was piled high on each of them.  The kind of sandwich that makes you unhinge your jaw.

There was a lot of raving about the bacon that comes out of this kitchen.

i have yet to check it out, but will definitely have to do so soon (I keep heading to Grinders).

I have to agree with the name thing though.  I think a different name would have been cooler.

Ate there last week. Had a great sandwich. Weird to have Adam and Eve naked inside my table though.

Had dinner last nite, very good.  Wife said the blt was the best she ever had.  Honey bread?, smoked bacon, chipotle sauce and avocado.  I had pastrami and corn chowder, yum.  Only bummer no liquor license yet, though Grinders is right next door.  Couple months the waitress said.

i really dislike the fact that they don't have fountain drinks.  1.50 for a can of coke just isn't going to fly.  This is the midwest.  We expect refills.

Sorry about the no fountain drinks..We dont have the room for the machine @ least at this point..Im not a fan of the cans either and am trying to figure something out..The liquor license issue should be resolved within the next several weeks we hope..do to certain paperwork that was filled out incorrectly is being taken care of..Until then please eat and drink (alcohol) on the picnic tables,  Grinders will serve on either side..Thanks..S

If there can't be fountain drinks, i would be pretty satisfied if they just offered 20 oz bottle sodas for a reasonable price.

I really liked the space, tables and food though!  I went with a bunch of friends and they all had a gas checking out the different tables.

Just tried the bfast for the first time Sat morning.  Now one of my top 5 bfast places and is worth a bit of a drive for.  The omelette options are above any selection I've seen in the city.  I built one with egg white, feta/goat cheese, shallots, spinach, shrimp with a type of pesto on the side.   It was under $8 if I recall.

And a solid bloody mary bar.. you get a large glass of ice with a generous vodka pour and you mix the rest.  Has various olives, peppers, hot sauces, celery, ground horse radish, etc.  5 bucks each.

Also dug the sound of New Order in the morning

Do it.

sounds great, particularly the Bloody Mary's.  Thanks for the tip.  I love Grinders but STILL haven't tried Grinders West.  I swear it's that name!

Did bfast again last weekend.  Just noticed they do $2 mimosas with pink champagne.  You can't get an OJ for $2 anymore.

Took my sister from STL... she loved the place (and her omelette/mimosa).

Glad you guys enjoyed the breakfast. We also recently fused the menus between Grinders and West to handle the flow and provide even better service.( I know). We have made tremendous improvements in the past 7 months and the customers have noticed.. Thanks for the support.

I can attest to the quality of the Bloody Mary's.

The drink looks good, but your drinking partner is a pretty unsavory looking fellow.  :D

Went again Sunday, my new favorite bfast place.  Did a burrito this time, which you can fix up with the same options as an omellete.  Did a Mexi wrap and happened to have some Marie Sharpes habenero sauce with me.  mmm...

Still can't get over $2 mimosas.

You were carrying hot sauce in your pocket? That's potentially exciting!

In my backpack anyway.  But I left the sauce there.  :(  Maybe they'll carry it now.

They do have Marie Sharpes there, but you gotta hunt for it. I believe they get deliveries of the small, terrorist-proof bottles twice a year.
