Yelp says so, and KC isn't listed on the restaurant's own website.

Damn, I was just there the other day. Admittedly a bit overpriced, but they had pretty good food.

I'd love to see the business plans of these places....nobody seems to start with near enough capital anymore.

Exactly. I thought the rule of thumb was that you should expect to lose money your first year or two while building clientele, etc. Easier said than done I suppose...

Of course they could be losing more money than was expected.

too bad about Tamale Wizard. I believe that's the guy my neighbor hired to bring his cart to her son's birthday party this year. The food was very good.

Hugely bummed about Papa Lew's. That place is/was awesome. If you've never been, go while you can.

Someone posted somewhere else in the forum that a lot of KC bars/restaurants are twice as big as they need to be. The Beacon (and Jack Gage) was a prime example of that. It was a barn.

^Lakeside Tavern which Rye took over was a huge space but it seems to be that Rye is thriving in that location. Too bad Rye didn't open up where that wood fire pizza place is in Westport, that is a huge space but Rye could have easily used up all that space

Dark Horse Tavern in Westport is closed.
Will reopen Aug 28th as:
the Westport Saloon and will be more live-music-friendly. "The focus will be on bluegrass, alt-country and a little bit of country,"
