I have heard it kind of sucks, I have heard there is only one bar on the whole casino floor, when you first walk-in is kind of weird, and I also heard the buffet is awful.

This casino offers no extra points of any kind like the MO casinos do on certain nights or machines. Is there some KS law against that? Does that buffet even have a weekly crab leg night like the other casino buffets?

So many complaints on how the casino looks like a movie theater and the landscaping is bad and so on.. its winter and the damn place is called Hollywood casino ... do the math......

And Vegas style only pertains to the fact you can walk 10 ft from the front door and be gambling rather than the WALK to the floor.. were you expecting roller coasters, cirque du soleil, and hookers... in which 2 of the 3 can be obtained further east... make a night of it

Kansas City riverboat casinos’ revenue falls in Hollywood Casino’s first month
Hollywood Casino — the first big Kansas-side competitor for the Missouri riverboat casinos — rang up $6.8 million in revenue during its first nine days; executives at the time said the competition wasn’t hurting its sister casino, Argosy Casino & Hotel Kansas City. However, Argosy was the only local riverboat casino to see both its revenue and patron count decline last month, dropping 7.7 percent to $14.71 million and 8.2 percent to 178,900 people, respectively.

Has anybody heard a positive review? I haven't heard one. Every person I have talked to that has been there has been disappointed. I have not yet been.

Well, the visitors who have posted on different sites are most definitely mixed, the revenue numbers are in and they did really well for their first month:

http://www.wyandottedailynews.com/compo ... irst-month

Their revenue numbers out them in 2nd place in the KC metro behind Ameristar for Feb even though they missed 2.5 days of the month.

It will remain to be seen if they can keep that pace (likely drop off from initial interest and risk of drops if they don't correct some of their shortcomings as people get fed up).

What is it with people and crab legs? I swear I don't get it, kind of like that is the mark of "fine dining"?
Not really into gambling, but went once. I liked it, it seemed brighter than most and I thought the air handling system was really good. Almost impossible to get into the Turn 2 bar, always packed.

From what I've seen, the crab legs thing is the opposite of fine dining, especially at casinos.

According to Fox 4 Hollywood Casino has missed the deadline for building an adjacent hotel for tenth year in a row. Each year they have to pay a fine of 1% of their revenue.
