That being said, it is a perfect location for such a thing.

I wouldn't be surprised if it closed with little warning once the new one is open. They did exactly that in Shawnee when they opened a new location on Shawnee Mission Parkway. A couple weeks after it opened, they closed the one at 67th and Neiman. As I recall, the question had come up before construction as to whether they would keep that location open, and they said they would.

I did have a chance to ask a couple of the workers at the 87th & Farley location recently, they were not even aware of the new location being proposed.

Update: some heavy equipment appeared at the site yesterday and today the building is about half demolished.

I was wondering about that the other day when I was washing my car across the street and nothing appeared to have happened.

Drove by it today - building and parking lot are completely gone - down to dirt.

Well, there goes my hope against hope for getting pancakes there again.
