In Compass it appears this project was granted preliminary Fire review on 10/18/2019. I'm not sure how plan submittal works in KCMO, but presumably the plans have been submitted for city review and approval.

There also is noted that this project was reviewed and granted a continuance on 10/1. I thought it was already approved though?

Despite the various rumors flying around, it does seem like the gears are still turning, albeit slowly. I think the Star reported this was supposed to start construction in 17/early 18.

I found 2 entries on a construction bidding website for this project. I put a few interesting details below.


Entry 1(August/September): "Construction may start in 4 months." This entry appears to be for the entire project

Entry 2(Late September): "Schematic Drawings underway, Further action to come in 4-6 months. " This entry is for the second tower that houses the hotel and ~50 apartments.

This is a really great project that will bring needed density, leverage an existing parking garage and hopefully increase residents and help decrease crime in WP. I do worry that its such a big development from a developer who was kind of small, so great news that it's still proceeding.

Looks like a MPD final plan was submitted today. An easement permit for the parage was submitted on the 7th.
