What's going on with the old curved front pharmacy at SE corner B'way and Armour? Gutted and facade removed.
I found this rendering on the Clemons website, although I assume it is hypothetical, depending on the tenant:

"Restaurant" would be a great name.
And is that rendering greatly exaggerating the amount of sidewalk space?

I don't think so, there is a lot of sidewalk space there.

There's definitely enough room for a patio there. Nice curbside view of the Knickerbockers getting demolished.

Think he meant you could see from those tables to across the street to Knickerbocker Place on the west.

Renovation on the MGE building looks underway. I didn't have a chance to snap a pic but noticed two weekends back that the concrete cladding on the back (west) side had sections cut out.

It’s well underway. Half the buildings cladding was missing last time I saw it.

The SE corner of Broadway/Armour has a sign up as 'available'. So if true a restaurant is planned apparently one isn't lined up yet.

Anyone know why people were protesting at like 32nd and Broadway. Signs that said no new debt and some sign about 73%

I saw that too. No clue what they were doing.
I guess it worked in the sense that we're talking about it. But, would it kill them to mix in a sign with a URL and a clue as to what they're doing? I don't want to honk if it's some sort of neo-Nazi thing (which I know it's probably not - just sayin').

There's so many different says to quantify the debt but I'm finding a bunch of sources quoting that the percent of US government debt held by the public was 73% of annual GDP in 2013.
While it looks to be an old number, that makes sense in context of what you describe.

So this was more of a political protest? Seems like an odd place to protest. I figure they were protesting some kind of new development and these people didn't want to use tax breaks to fund the project

32nd and Broadway is in front of Penn Valley CC. I’d assume it was a protest for free tuition.

Construction fences up at MGE building and a new sign as well. Says phase one will be done in spring of 2020.

I really like what they're doing with the appearance of this building.

Thanks for all the pics Dave! Agreed about being impressed with how MGE is already looking. Shaping up to be one of the more impressive remodels in KC.

I like how the building has taken out sections of the exterior to bring in more light, especially for living spaces while keeping the original small windows for bathrooms and bedrooms. I wonder what they did with the removed exterior sections? You could use them to build a very similar looking building right behind this one with less cost due to reuse.
