Houlihan's moving out of the Plaza?

Post by Good2Great »

I paid my farewell to the joint this afternoon for lunch. They must be ready to load up and go as the traditional BOOK of a menu has now been neutered to a 2-page floppy express menu. I even made one final downward hike to the restroom dungeon. (Of course, I left the water on and flooded the toilet, but Highwoods can deal with it!)

I would at least be pursuaded to shop at an Old Navy...who shops at Saks anyway. I see that store closing real soon. They don't even carry men's clothing anymore. They need to get a Neiman Marcus or Nordstrom in it's place.

I know that Saks Inc. has been having major problems at their flagship stores. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if they sold their KC store. From some articles I've read, the Saks stores really don't know what they're doing and are in quite a bit of trouble. I bet there'd be a bidding war between Nordstrom, Lord and Taylor and Neiman's for that spot. Knowing Highwoods they'd probably give it to JCPenney.

I think there are still a lot of rich women that live around the Plaza that are keeping Saks going.....no Lord & taylor or anything...that's a Dillards.

Have to be N.M. or Nordstroms

Why is Nordstrom so much better than Lord and Taylor? To me, Nordstrom is just overrated. By the way, I was at Nordstrom in O.P. with a friend from Chicago and she said, "This place is a dump compared to the Nordstrom by my old house in Chicago." I'm pretty sure she lived by the Nordstrom at Oak Brook. I had to laugh...talk about snobby.

Lord & Taylor is just a regional department store...like a Dillards. Nordstrom's is more of a national chain in highly select locations.

I don't like either one of them.
