Pretty sure both of their projects were delayed by environmental issues, last time I spoke to them.chaglang wrote:Semi-related: what’s taking Opus so long with demolition of the bank?

I’ve heard ‘environmental issues’ before from developers. It usually translates to ‘financing’.DaveKCMO wrote: Pretty sure both of their projects were delayed by environmental issues, last time I spoke to them.

Unless they had to put testing wells in and are waiting for the state to ok the results? MO DNR is glacially slow.

Re: Westport
I think that was the case for Crossroads, since the previous use was commercial dry cleaning. A very large chemical bloom under there.chaglang wrote:Unless they had to put testing wells in and are waiting for the state to ok the results? MO DNR is glacially slow.

Re: Westport
For as often as it seems to happen, KC must have had dry cleaners on every block.

Anyone attend the survey results meeting hosted by Historic KC last night? Unfortunately, I had a work commitment, but hoping someone from the forum went. Results of the survey are available online https://www.historickansascity.org/wp-c ... d-size.pdf

What is "Meridian Line"? It's the space next to Oddly Correct and KC Urban Potters @ Westport Road/Main St.

A friend was at the Foundry last night and was told that it will close after Saturday - the space will be remodeled and become a seafood restaurant.

I drove by yesterday and the parking lot in front of Foundry was being torn up - wondered if they were doing work on the Foundry. Seafood, huh?

Sailor Jack's Snack Shack, to be precise - from reading between the lines of the article, I'm getting a strong "Char Bar, but with seafood" vibe for what this place will be like.kcjak wrote:I drove by yesterday and the parking lot in front of Foundry was being torn up - wondered if they were doing work on the Foundry. Re: Westport
Look forward to lobster rolls and good to have a pubby above avg seafood joint as most KC seafood is pricey white tablecloth or fried chains (Jazz an exception). And great that the lot is finally going away...

Re: Westport
Speaking of places shutting down, what happened to Snow and Co (I really hated that name)? They went from having a Crossroads location to a 2nd location in Gladstone, then closing Gladstone, then moving to Westport and closing that in a little over a year. I'll admit I didn't really like most of the frozen drinks they made but that business crashed and burned pretty fast. When we went to the Westport one they only had like 2 frozen drink machines, so maybe they were trying to pivot but it was pretty dead on a saturday night.
