I bet people in KC would actually live at a casino. Perfect for condos.

Some people would probably really enjoy it if they had room service, and added a few amenities.

Also I know hotels aren’t doing well right now, but this won’t be done till the future. If you do up a casino why not add some rooms

That rendering has been released before. Do we know for sure that it’s what’s getting built?

There are multiple renderings in the city scene article, so I don’t think so

That was the lead in shot on the Stars front page. Doesn't appear in the article though.

Did the constitution get amended so they don't have to float still? I forget if I read it should happen or that it did,

If not, how can a building get built on top and it still floats?

I think all the other casinos put hotels in accessory buildings and the casino portion is short

I’m not sure if the law still exists, but the Hollywood casino in Maryland heights has a building on top it.

You don't have to have Riverboat Casinos in Missouri anymore. You can, but it's not required. Hotels can be built on top of a casino hall or connected to the same complex similar to Hollywood Casino in Maryland Heights, Ameristar in St. Charles, Lumiere Place in Downtown STL, River City in Southside St. Louis, Argosy KC, Ameristar KC, and Harrah's KC.

Isle of Capri can have a hotel built on it somewhere. If it's a boat, they could get rid of the boat since I'm sure maintenance costs on that are quite high.

So is the streetcar extension to the casino officially dead?

Their original extension proposal is dead too. It’s just going to end at the base of the bridge now.

The CEO commented this week that they would be open to a partnership. It honestly doesn’t sound like serious discussion have taken place.

July 2020 Union Berkley Update: 13 units open of 407. 96.8% occupied

I expect Berkley to do very well with its park-side location and plethora of outdoor amenities.

Port KC has signed an LOI for a 5 floor, 120 room "fitness-focused" boutique hotel at the Riverfront. The national brand does not have any locations in our region. The developer has spent the last few months defining the project program (amenities, features, etc). Currently, the project scope and height are being nailed down.

Maybe it is a EVEN Hotel by IHG since that fits the bill for a "Fitness-Focused" hotel. They've been built in a variety of sizes in different cities so it would be possible for this location to be 120 rooms.

You can see some of their other locations here...

The confidence in KC market in risky/uncertain times (especially for new hotel proposals) is very impressive. The City however shouldn't engage in the risk at a financial level.

We stayed at the EVEN Times Square in February. Probably wouldn't again, as the rooms were too small to use the equipment they provided in the room (especially with two guests). Maybe our rooms will be bigger.
