At there last night. Very comfortable space. A lot less formal than the Michael Smith space, but not as raucous as the EV space. Housemade pastas were excellent, so much better than Lidia's. Raw bar is a nice touch. Adds a lot to this corner!

Whatever the fucking Crossroads is now, YJ’s Snack Bar is all the better for leaving it behind & the relocation is an improvement. More space, taller walls finely attuned with artwork of an alt-history of civic pride & civil rights - like the old joint. Seemingly a newer clientele also & Ford is on the floor making true espressos that rival Broadway Cafe. Just a hard-won victory over suburbanization. Viva Snack Bar

East Crossroads Mainstay ‘Thou Mayest’ Seeking New ‘Flagship’ Location
...
The first project now under way is within Family Tree Nursery in Shawnee (7036 Nieman Rd.) and celebrates the world of plants. It’s called Cafe Equinox. The grand opening celebration is this Saturday Feb. 16 from 7 a.m.-5 p.m.

Our second project is still very secret but we can say it will be taking us us back down to the East Crossroads.

This new concept will continue to provide a stimulating and engaging community space for people to connect but will also encourage “out of the cup” thinking around the concept, creation and consumption of great coffee beverages.

Too many weird places down there now and with all the buildings going in no place to park.

I want to have some drinks with Darlene, MGS and FlyingEmber.

Great news to see Thou Mayest isn’t abandoning E.Crossroads.

Suspect that Darlene is a person who was kicked off the site as 'she' appeared shortly after.

Flavor Town seeps into yet another property. ”You can call it Thou Mayest 2.0,” Guy Fieri quipped. “They had a great concept and we want to keep riding it with the same flavor profile.” Just straight ripping off another concept and growing its goatee out.

Seems like a good thing to do for the neighborhood. I'm far from a STRETCH apologist but good on him.

Stretch didn't support your street car and anyone could've pirated that space's tenant finish. But yes, good on flavor town. Enjoy the various flavor profiles of mousse and goatee. Cool neighborhood.

Yeah, I'll hold off until the actual Thou Mayest 2.0 opens, thank you very much. Stretchy is becoming the Johnny Kaw's of the east crossroads.

An application for a tenant finish permit came through Compass KC today for the Streetcar Grill & Tavern at 1580 Main.

Here's a streetview of the location.

This has been on the liquor permits and Joyce's opening list forever. Glad to see some actual movement

For me, Grinders is good food and a good outdoor venue. Comparing it to what Johnny Kaw's is bringing into Westport doesn't make any sense to me, but whatever. At the very least, they're local and not some KS college town retread.
