Abbott owns more than 30 properties in the East Crossroads and already has completed a number of redevelopment projects there.
Good thing he's a quality re-developer and not a squatter. Impressive things he's been doing.

agreed, but what do you think about 75% vs 100% abatement?

75, Foutch's project was much more deserving and only got what, 67? At least be consistent so developers can make a business plan

I'm not sure I support incentives for this project. These all just seem to be upgrades to small buildings that already have tenants or could have tenants in them. From the public's perspective, sure it'd be nice if they were fixed up and looked better but what are these projects really providing the city? New jobs? No. Affordable housing? No. Higher density? No.

I could support it if upgrades come with infill, improved street level and the like. A combined project would have value

Messenger Coffee Sending Savory Aroma of Roasting Beans and Baking Bread to Grand Boulevard
The intersection of 17th and Grand may become the most irresistible olfactory zone in downtown Kansas City by early fall with the arrival of Messenger Coffee Co.

It would be pretty great for downtown KC to become known for its great coffee after we lost the aroma of coffee from the Folger's plant departure.
