Re: Misc Crossroads News
Just infill the whole west side of Broadway from PAC to Southwest blvd with similar concepts. That would be skyline changing.
Re: Misc Crossroads News
Nice project, but people are going to come out of the woodwork to fight this to "save the view" for a split second for those speeding by on I-35.
My thoughts from a cityscene post
I get protecting the view from the south, but why is it so important to protect the view from I-35 for a split second while driving down the interstate? That highway is so busy, you don't have time to look at the skyline anyway right there. Seems like building up Broadway into a dense urban environment rather than the current and outdated industrial uses is a far better alternative. If you really want to see the Performing Arts Center without obstructions, get off the interstate and go see it. And if developments like this happen, there will be much nicer things surrounding the arts center which will enhance the experience. The Broadway corridor is kind of embarrassing considering its location. It's long overdue to be developed and I thought properly developing Broadway was a major point of even building the arts center. You can't protect every view of the building. It's a city after all.

It's a good thing Denver didn't "Save the View" of Union Station. The entire Platte Valley would not be the thriving urban neighborhood it is today and one of the most desirable places to live in Denver. It would still be low rise, mostly underutilized old industrial areas with nice views of Union Station though!

This looks like a good project. I hope they are able to get it built.

Re: Misc Crossroads News
I believe there is no view/height restrictions on this site. I hope these get built, they look pretty good.
Re: Misc Crossroads News
A Star article says they aren’t seeking local incentives, but rather will utilize the Federal Opportunity Zone Capital gains incentives to help build this project- though they may ask for sales tax exemptions.
No local incentives will certainly help this in the approval process. Though the article made it sound like they had not done any fundraising yet, so this is really fairly speculative.

Nope! Those are also recommendations, not restrictions.

Re: Misc Crossroads News
The developer proposing this project came up with the idea but wants other developers to actually build it. At least that’s what I got from the City Scene article.kboish wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2019 10:13 am A Star article says they aren’t seeking local incentives, but rather will utilize the Federal Opportunity Zone Capital gains incentives to help build this project- though they may ask for sales tax exemptions.

The Star article makes it sound like he wants to develop it, but needs funders. He said he needs 25-40% investor equity in the project to make it work and he is talking about the site being attractive to investors. So he is raising money for it.normalthings wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2019 12:21 pmThe developer proposing this project came up with the idea but wants other developers to actually build it. The PIEA was just approved for the project. Please see the freight house redevelopment thread.
Re: Misc Crossroads News
The Pairing Wine & Grocer is now open on Oak. Nice space, still filling in the food shelves but lots of beer, wine, and spirits already. Wine flights and by the glass.

Re: Misc Crossroads News
The photo below is from 2014. It's nice to see how some parts of the Crossroads (especially by Main) filled in.
The photo below is from today...
Projects completed or going up since then, One Light, Two Light, Corrigan Station 2, Corrigan Garage, City Club, Residence Inn, Hampton Inn, Reverb, Loews, Home2, Artistry, and 1914 Main
It will be nice to see how much this view changes over the next 5 years.
