Seems a bit odd for the middle of the City, but I guess it'll be a placeholder and popular.
Activates existing buildings/lots and doesn't displace any residents. Very active use.

NE Corner of 20th & Walnut Redevelopment is moving forward. Basically the REC Bar idea from KC Star Building with the addition of doggy day care.

Where is/has Farm To Market relocated?

I remember seeing a rendering on here of yet another NSPJ multi-family development for part of this property. I assume that is dead.

Eeeesh, I mean yeah. Just seems like a wildly low-intensity use. But as far as design BNIM have done a good job.

Good spot for some recreation, minimal investment required, leaves it open for easy future development.

I hear you all, and I get it. I'm just a little surprised that we're deploying placeholder urbanism, a la Riverfront, in what is supposed to be one of our hottest neighborhoods. But it's a weird time!

If you're going to act confused about how capitalism works you're just going to look silly.

Golly, thanks! Maybe I can find an internet discussion board where we're (meaning all of us) allowed to have discussions about development and the future of our city as a royal We.

This development makes sense if you look at it in the context of there being a surplus of development sites downtown which are just sitting around waiting until its their turn to be built on. This development would be bad news if it indicated a lack of demand for new construction, but new proposals still seem to keep popping up at steady intervals.

ODDO had no near-term plans to develop the property. This isn't really replacing a solid proposal.

I doubt we see anything else built there until after the Grand-McGee-19th-20th block gets built out. And everything south of there that has been announced is just that--a plan. There is no guarantee it gets built. Anything can happen.
