I'm trying to develop a downtown photo scavenger hunt. If you have any ideas for good items to out on the list, post them here please.

the details need to be from a place worth visiting, not the back side of a random building
Some should be easy, some not so much. If people can't figure it out they won't try to finish.
Some should be easy to find the location, but not necessarily exactly where at it.

the Amtrak waiting room
the corner detail of ten main (zoom in on a few windows)
The Arabia water wheel
one of the memorial plaques across the street from union station
the garmant district spool and thread
a character from the lewis and clark statue
the stairs at the town of ks bridge
a close in detail of a city market big cover
the hands statue in Davis park
part of the boxcar on the P&L roof
looking up at a light on 14th near Main
the streetcar track junction at 3rd
a planter bed in 18th/broadway
the skywalk memorial
the rocket
webster house sign
a set of the panels over 670
the fountains at barney allis plaza

-The "I pissed where Al Capone pissed" sign in Rieger's bathroom*
-Dedication plaques on Zoo Bar's bar
-The Sporting Mural on Main
-The post-fire picture of the Stockyards in GoldenOx bathroom*
-Pictures of the fish or plants or whatever they have going on in Anton's basement

*I'm sure the ladies' restrooms in the city have a lot to offer to, but my experience there is limited.

And basically everything flyingmember said. That was a good list.

Maybe some obscure-ish interiors? The new york life building would be a good one

I work on a downtown photo scavenger hunt every September. Here's a few things we've had in the past...

General rack-up-the-points items:
* the national flags along Grand
* the planetary stations along Baltimore
* statues, sculptures, murals
* license plates from different states
* pictures taken from rooftops, skywalks, etc.

Clue-based items to find:
* The sundial at 9th & Broadway
* The broken thermometer at 10th & Walnut
* Sitting on the bench with Mark Twain
* Other specific statues or sculptures: "Modern Communication" (the man with the shoe in his mouth), the skeletonized bison, the sewing needle and button, the Lewis & Clark statue, the Charlie Parker memorial, etc.
* Specific murals, usually picking certain interesting ones to force people to venture into a wider range of neighborhoods.
* The Star Disk at Oppenstein Park
* The giant pistol in the West Bottoms
* The model train room at Union Station

Clue based items inside businesses:
* The phone booth behind Brewery Emperial
* "Nude With Cigar" (I don't know the real name so that's what I call it) , the painting behind the bar at Cigar Box
* The Betsy Ross flag inside The Belfrey
* The panther sculptures in the Commerce Bank Building lobby

(FYI for ours we require a participant to be in every photo so we know they didn't just download something from Google Images.)
